Brake Caliper Refurbishment & Colour Change
Brake calipers are the most visually striking components behind your wheels, yet they are also one of the most commonly neglected parts of a vehicle. Over time, brake calipers can become faded, chipped, rusted or discoloured due to heat, road salt and brake dust. Especially if you opt for a new set of wheels with us, faded or plain calipers can really let your vehicle down.
Here at our Aero Elite workshop based in Wimborne, Dorset, we offer a professional brake caliper refinishing and colour change service designed to restore your calipers to a factory-fresh finish or transform them with a custom colour that complements your wheels and overall vehicle styling.
Whether you're restoring tired OEM calipers or creating colour coded exterior aesthetic, our caliper refinishing service provides durable, high temperature finishes that look incredible and last.

Professional Caliper Painting vs DIY Caliper Paint Kits
While DIY caliper paint kits exist, professional refinishing ensures a significantly better and longer lasting result. This is not only because we have all the tools required to prep all the strange shapes calipers come in, but even simply due to the quality of paint being used.
DIY kits often result in:
-
Uneven finishes
-
Poor durability
-
Paint reacting with brake dust and heat
-
Visible brush marks or inconsistent rattle can coverage
- Overspray on discs, arch liners or even on the vehicle itself
Our professional refinishing process ensures:
-
Proper cleaning and preparation
-
Removal of corrosion, contaminants and old paint
-
Special high temperature laquer which can only be sprayed out of a gun
-
Even, high gloss and durable finishes that withstand heat cycles
- Absolutely no overspray
The result is a factory quality finish that lasts.

Our Brake Caliper Refinishing Process
At Aero Elite, from previous experience, we take a detailed and methodical approach to brake caliper refurbishment.
1. Inspection
We assess the condition of the calipers, checking for corrosion, paint damage or contamination.
2. Preparation
Calipers are thoroughly cleaned to remove brake dust, oils and contaminants that would prevent paint adhesion.
3. Surface Correction
Any corrosion or damaged paint is removed to ensure a smooth surface. We sand through several grit stages to ensure a high gloss and smooth finish.
4. Primer Stage
Depending on the type of caliper we have slight primer variations. All calipers are however primed in high build etch or epoxy primer to ensure perfect adhesion to bare metal. Applied with a specialist primer spray gun.
5. Painting Stage
Always out of a spraygun, we apply base coat in your colour of choice and then seal this with specialist laquer designed to withstand the high temperatures produced by braking systems.
5. Finishing & Curing
The finish is cured to create a durable, long-lasting surface resistant to heat and brake dust. We can now optionally add stickers/decals to your calipers in any colour of your choosing due to having a sticker cutting machine on site. You will also have the option for us to ceramic coat your calipers after the paint has flashed off.

Brake Caliper Colours & Customisation
We offer a wide range of caliper colour options to suit different vehicle styles.
Many customers choose colours that complement their wheels or body colour, or certain existing features on the car.

How Long Does Caliper Refurbishment Take?
Most brake caliper refinishing jobs can be completed within a single day, depending on the condition of the calipers and the specific finish chosen.
For more complex restoration or custom finishes, additional curing time may be required.
